step by step, He leads

hi y'all
this post today is going to be a bit more sad than usual as I am going through an incredibly tough situation. lately I have had problems in a relationship, trusting and believing. when someone says I love you...it's a huge thing. and to trust them means all the world. to believe the words coming out of their mouth...means so much. and to not believe him, that breaks my heart. as we're taking time apart for us to figure things out and I continue to read my daily devotions (which by the way, it really truly amazes me how every day I open this book and it is as if God is talking to me. straight to me through the words on this page).

this was my devotion :
"I will show you the next step forward, and the one after that, and the one after that. Relax and enjoy the journey in My Presence, trusting Me to open the way before you as you go."

the two bible readings to coincide with this devotion say something even more,
"I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you." Psalm 32:8

these words are so important for me right now, they're saying to me to trust in Him for He has my future in His hands. I have to first love Him, trust in Him, believe in Him before I will be able to do the same in any of my relationships. it is even more clear to me now that I need to take these few weeks to throw myself into these devotions, into learning all that I can, and reading every day so that I can grow and allow myself to grow in my relationships. I so believe that everything happens for a reason and God has such a plan for each of us. it is just these past few weeks that I am finally learning to let Him lead me, step by step through my days, every day.

I am sharing this with the world because I think it's an important thing to remember. if it gets me through the day then I would like to help someone else, perhaps in the same situation know that they can get through. as i've mentioned before prayer. prayer can get you through. these devotions are such a blessing to me. and hopefully they can be a blessing to some of you too.

on the way
(my favorite quote from this adventure was, "you're wearing pearl earrings to get a tattoo?" like it's by far the craziest part to this night. pearls and tattoos..i mean duh)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
getting ready! I was so nervous.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

because it's been a while

so I haven't posted anything in a few days because I've been so busy! school is quite draining this semester.
but this weekend I'm going back up to Anderson to visit my best friend and we'll do some more art projects which I'll be able to post here after! we're also going to visit a tattoo shop...for...yessss a tattoo!!!! I have been waiting and waiting for the right time in my life to get a simple, black or white, cross tattoo on my wrist/arm area. and with the changes going on in my life over the next few weeks, it seems to be the PERFECT time to finally do a little something for myself that I have wanted to do. so eeeek! I couldn't be more excited..and nervous at the same time. those pictures will definitely be uploaded here after! and if I know my best friend, she will probably have a video of the entire thing because of my babyish tendencies to pain. it will be interesting for sure.

a little something going on in my life: CHANGE.
change is always a scary thing but in my morning devotion, I've learned that change is a good thing. we should embrace every second of change. The verse I read has been stuck in my head and I think will stay there every time I doubt anything going on in my life. I keep saying, "Lord, I ask that you open my mind and my heart to do just what you want me to do in all that I do." WHOA. powerful stuff. it is hard to do that! but He also says that when we "cling" to old ways and sameness, we are going against what He wants, we are "resisting" His work within us.

I've written the following words of encouragemnt on my mirror in my bathroom as a daily reminder when I wake up,
Open my eyes so I can find all you have prepared for me in this precious day of life.
I say this every morning. This is how I start my morning and I find it helps so much throughout the day.

hope everyone has a fabulous day! embrace this day and the changes in your life!

and it's valentines day❤️

Hope everyone is having a lovely valentines day doing coupley things being cute and such. But if you're like me, then this day is just another Friday.
This is as "in the spirit" of valentine's day I will be! When I worked with kids at my church, this is the bible verse I gave them with their valentine's day goodies. I still love to go back to it to remember that the ultimate gift is the love He gives us.
Mine was spent with my little brother. The best valentine's date I could have asked for today. Mexican (my favorite) for lunch and then a day of shopping and hanging out with him.

thrifty finds

recently, my best friend and I went on an adventure to search for those "thrifty finds." this weekend we did many art projects. Some of my project ideas come from Pinterest. my newest obsession has been those clear, old vases with paint inside! so we went to a Habitat for Humanity Restored, and I found 3 clear vases for $1.00.
project1:

the three vases & paint colors I chose
I did the yellow first & basically,
 you pour and pour
 and pour some more.

 spin & shake

 spin & shake

until the vase is completely covered in your chosen color.

next is green, repeat steps above

green completed
last I did a peach/coral color & repeat above steps

 peach/coral complete
turn the vases upside down so all the excess paint can drip out into the sink. after setting them there for about an hour, we moved them to a piece of cardboard so the vases could dry better.

project2:
my next thrifty find, an OLD WINDOW! I've seen so many projects of old, painted windows but never knew where to get them. found a big 6 paned window for $7.50. SO EXCITED.
 the paint colors
 my thrifty find before
& my thrifty find after. the completed window masterpiece with dots & brush marks in all different colors! LOVE!

a little about me

the name's rebecca caroline & I'm 22 years of age.
I'm trying to find my place in the world and make a name for myself.

the big things:
recently, I've changed my major from nursing to special education. I have completely fallen in love with special education and couldn't be more excited. I've prayed and prayed about finding where God wants me to be and after one visit to the classroom, He made it so clear to me. after finalizing that decision, everything fell right into place. School courses, living arrangements, finances, all of it. it alls makes perfect sense. the next step in my decision making process is which school to choose. Clemson and USC Upstate are my options. and both have amazing programs. I'll end up making a big announcement, on here, of which school I choose! I can't wait. I have an amazing support system of family & friends. I'm a strong believer and stand firm in my faith in Jesus Christ. recently, I have been trying to get closer and learn all that I can in being a follower of Christ and be exactly who He wants me to be. I have daily devotions and a study Bible that I read and where I have post-its covering the pages along with notes and highlighting.

the little things:
I love to paint, draw, DIY projects. I'm trying to get into so many projects! I'm learning to crochet/knit...I really have yet to discover the difference other than the tools needed to do each but I'm going to start that soon too! I LOVE love love to take photographs. of everything...and anything. I'm always snapping photos and soon this month I am buying a brand new camera and I am so excited. most of this blog will be my art projects, just a fun place to put them and a good stress reliever. sometimes the posts may be just some adventure going on in my life at the time. and full of photos! and some may be different things I've learned during my daily/nightly Bible study.

so welcome to my blog! hope you enjoy what I have to say and what ya see. :)
